Why Lynnwood

Four people, $312 cash, and one hour that fixes the day

The Alderwood day has a predictable shape. Strong start, decent lunch, and by mid-afternoon everyone is carrying bags and quietly renegotiating with their own feet. Soul's Lynnwood studio sits at 3105 Alderwood Mall Blvd #112, about five minutes from the shopping you're already doing, and it takes 5 to 10 guests at the same time for a head spa block. Four people taking the 60-minute Signature is $312 cash, and a party of eight is $624. That's $78 each, because head spa is priced per person and there's no group tier to hunt for.

This is the newest of the four Soul studios, and its group bookings look different from the other three. Everett gets after-work teams. Kirkland gets bridal parties. Lynnwood gets the girls' day — sisters, cousins in town for the weekend, a group of friends who agreed weeks ago to do something and then defaulted to shopping again. The head spa is the part of the plan everyone actually remembers.

What each guest gets is the same ritual a solo guest gets, at the same price. Milbon purifying cleanse, detoxifying scalp exfoliation, head-neck-shoulder massage, warm hydrotherapy, and a blow-dry with a Dyson dryer and Moroccan hair oil at the end — which is why a group walks out looking put-together rather than damp. NCCIH keeps a science digest on where massage evidence stands if you want the unglamorous version, and Mayo Clinic Press has covered massage and mental well-being in plain language. No medical claims from us. Just an hour where four phones are in four purses.

Booking quirk

This studio books through Fresha — except when there are eight of you

Lynnwood is the one Soul studio that runs its online booking through Fresha rather than Setmore. The button still says Book Now and it works fine for a single appointment. It does not work for a group, and neither does any other online calendar, because a group isn't a slot — it's several rooms and the therapists to run them, held together for one stretch of the day. Software sells slots. People build blocks.

So call or text (425) 866-1858 instead. Give the desk three things and the reservation more or less builds itself: how many guests, which ritual each one wants, and a target start time with some flex around it. If four of you can do "anywhere between 2 and 4 on Sunday," say that rather than naming a single minute — flexible groups get booked first, every time. You'll get the total quoted before anything is locked in.

Ask a few days ahead. Two guests can often land the same week, but ten simultaneous rooms is the largest coordination request the studio takes, and weekend afternoons go first. One more thing worth saying out loud to your group before you book: the cancellation policy applies to the whole party, not per person. Twenty-four hours' notice, 50% inside that window, 100% for a no-call no-show. Get everybody's yes in writing first, even if writing means the group chat.

The math

There's no group rate to find, so here's the arithmetic instead

Head spa is billed per guest at Soul, full stop. No party package, no bundle, no headcount discount. That means the group total is genuinely just addition: two guests $156 cash, four $312, five $390, six $468, eight $624, ten $780. Paying by card adds $10 per person, so the cash discount is worth $40 to a group of four and $100 to a group of ten. Enough to cover the coffee everyone's getting afterward.

The group doesn't have to order in unison. One guest can take a 90-minute ritual at $135 cash while the rest take the Signature, and the desk staggers the starts so the finish times land close together. Anyone with hair past chest-length and thick should take the 90-minute Luxury — dense hair needs the extra cleanse-and-moisturize time, and squeezing it into 60 minutes shortchanges the result. Flag it when you book, not when you arrive.

Signature Head Spa, 60 minutes, priced per guest at $78 cash / $88 card, up to the ten-guest ceiling. Head spa has no group package rate — a group total is the individual prices added together.

Planning it

How the day fits together around a 9 PM close

The studio runs 10 AM to 9 PM daily, which is the earliest close in the Soul family — so the last realistic start for a full 60-minute block is 8 PM. Work backwards from that and the day plans itself:

  • 10 AM — doors open. The first block of the day is the easiest one to get and the calmest room you'll find all week.
  • Midday — the Alderwood loop, five minutes up the road, while everyone's still enthusiastic about it.
  • 4 PM — the honest turning point. Bags are heavy, feet are done, and a four-person block at $312 cash is the correct response.
  • 6 PM — dinner nearby afterward, with everyone's hair blow-dried rather than shoved into a clip.
  • 8 PM — the last start for a 60-minute Signature before the 9 PM close. Later than that, look at another studio.
  • Getting in — Mountlake Terrace and Brier about 10 minutes, Edmonds 12, Shoreline 15.

Arrival, and what the hour is actually like

Ask everyone to arrive ten minutes before the block. Check-in for a group takes a few minutes, and each guest has a short word with their therapist about pressure and water temperature before anything starts. Whoever runs late doesn't push the schedule back — their session just gets shorter, since the block ends when it ends. Treatments run in private rooms your party has to itself, with no curtain between anyone and a stranger, so groups talk at the beginning and usually stop by the exfoliation. Phones silenced, jewelry left at home, and any guest who finds the pressure or the water heat uncomfortable can say stop with no charge for the session.

Who books it

Mothers, daughters, and the friend who never takes a day off

Mixed-generation groups are the Lynnwood specialty. A mother and two daughters. A grandmother who has never had anything like this and spends the first ten minutes apologizing for enjoying it. Minors are welcome with a parent or guardian present, which makes a teenager's first head spa a normal booking here rather than an awkward exception. Men book it too, and the ritual doesn't change — shorter hair just means more of the hour goes to the neck and shoulders.

Gift certificates handle the person who won't book anything for herself. Soul's are Square gift certificates, valid at all four studios, and $78 covers exactly one 60-minute Signature at the cash price — so six of them prepay a group of six before anyone argues about the check. Around holidays this is the most common way a group booking gets funded, and the Mother's Day page covers that version of the plan in detail.

For pairs rather than parties, the couples head spa page covers two stations booked side by side, and the studio also has a private room with two massage tables if what you want is bodywork instead. For the rules that apply company-wide — the 5-to-10 ceiling, the phone-first booking, the per-person pricing — the group bookings page is the single reference. And the head spa menu doesn't vary by location, so pick the studio by drive time rather than by price.

Lynnwood FAQ

Good questions, straight answers

How many people can book together at the Lynnwood studio?
A group of 5 to 10 guests at the same time. Each guest needs a room and a therapist for the full session, which is what sets the ten-guest ceiling across all four Soul studios. Larger parties usually get split into two consecutive blocks — call (425) 866-1858 with your headcount and the desk will tell you what the day can hold.
Can we book a group on Fresha?
No. Lynnwood runs individual online bookings through Fresha rather than Setmore, and it works well for one person, but no online calendar can hold several rooms plus the staff to run them as a single block. For groups of three or more, call or text (425) 866-1858 with the headcount, rituals, and a target start time.
Is there a discount for booking a group?
No group rate exists — head spa is priced per person, so the total is individual prices added together. Four 60-minute Signature sessions is 4 × $78 = $312 cash, six is $468, and ten is $780. The only saving is the standing $10-per-service cash discount, which each guest receives, worth $40 across a party of four and $100 across a party of ten.
What's the latest a group can start?
Aim for 8 PM at the latest. The Lynnwood studio closes at 9 PM — the earliest close of the four Soul locations — so a 60-minute block needs to begin by 8 to finish properly. If your group can only meet later than that, the Everett studio stays open until 10 PM and takes the same 5-to-10 party.
Can I bring my teenage daughter and her friends?
Yes, with an adult present. Minors are welcome at Soul as long as a parent or guardian comes with them, so a group of teenagers needs at least one adult in the room. Mention their ages when you book so each therapist plans an appropriate session, and remember every guest pays the same $78 cash price.
How far ahead do we need to book?
A few days for a group of five to ten, and more for a weekend afternoon, which is when this studio fills first. A pair can often get something the same week. If the date is tied to a birthday or a visiting relative, ask as soon as you know it rather than a day or two before.
Can gift certificates pay for the whole group?
They can. Soul's Square gift certificates work at all four studios, and $78 covers one 60-minute Signature at the cash price — so four certificates prepay a party of four. Tell the front desk you're paying with certificates when you book the block, and checkout for the group takes a couple of minutes instead of ten.
