The plan

Three hundred six dollars, two people, one afternoon

$306 in cash covers a full couples spa day for two at Soul: a 60-minute massage in the private couples room, which is $150 for the pair, and then a 60-minute Signature Head Spa for each of you at $78 apiece. Two hours on the clock. Closer to three by the time you count check-in, the consult, and the stretch at the end where neither of you especially wants to stand up. That is the entire build. Everything below is about which of the four studios to run it at and what order to put the two halves in.

Soul Massage Head Spa has been a women-owned family business since the first studio opened in Mill Creek in 2021. There are four now — Mill Creek, Everett, Kirkland, and Lynnwood — and more than 15,000 guests have come through them. The Everett studio is the family's flagship and carries a 4.8-star Google rating. Every studio runs the same menu at the same prices. The hours are the part that differs, and for a day built around two people's calendars, hours decide almost everything.

A shared afternoon off is not medicine and we are not going to dress it up as any. The pieces of it have been looked at seriously, though. NCCIH keeps a readable summary of mind and body practices, and Mayo Clinic's overview of relaxation techniques describes the slowed breathing and dropped shoulders that guests describe on their way out the door. What we will promise is narrower and easier to check. For two straight hours, nobody can reach either of you.

Pick the room

Choosing a studio is really a decision about the clock

Same menu, same prices, four different sets of doors. Mill Creek opens at 9:30 AM, the earliest in the family, so it is the one to book if you like being finished before lunch. Everett runs until 10 PM and a 60-minute couples massage can still start there at 9. Kirkland is the only Soul studio east of Lake Washington, about 15 minutes from Bellevue or Redmond, with free parking at the building. Lynnwood sits on Alderwood Mall Blvd, where parking, food, and shops are already on the street you parked on.

One planning note that saves people a headache: you do not have to arrive together, and plenty of couples do not. One of you comes off a shift, the other drives down. What the booking needs is both of you present at the start time, ideally ten minutes before it, because a late start shortens the session rather than sliding it later.

The build

Massage first, scalp second. Yes, the order matters

Book the massage first. An hour face-down loosens the neck and shoulders, and the head spa that follows lands on muscle that has already given up the fight — the head-neck-shoulder massage buried in the middle of the Signature is the part guests talk about afterward, and it goes deeper when your neck is not still braced. The second reason is hair. Every head spa ends with a Dyson blow-dry and Moroccan hair oil, so finishing on the scalp side means you leave dry and presentable. Flip the order and you spend an hour face-down on hair that was just washed.

What the couples room actually is

A private room with two massage tables set a few feet apart and two therapists working them at once. You go back together and finish together, which is the whole point — booking two separate solo appointments and hoping they line up is how one of you ends up reading a magazine in the lobby. Both tables share one clock, so a couples session is one duration for two people: 60 minutes at $150 cash, 90 at $210, or 120 at $290. Pick the length as a pair. Each of you still chooses your own style and pressure, and nothing about the two massages has to match.

The head spa half is priced per person

This is the part people get wrong when they call, so here it is plainly: head spa is per guest, and there is no couples package. Two of you booking the 60-minute Signature is $78 twice, $156 cash. Two of the 90-minute rituals is $135 twice. What the money does not change is the room — you get one to yourselves, with no other guests in it, so the two of you are next to each other and can talk if you feel like talking. Ask for the two-station room when you book and the desk will block it together.

The math

Two ways to spend the same $306 and only one shares a room

Here is a genuine quirk of the menu. Combo 5 stacks a 60-minute full-body massage with the 60-minute Signature Head Spa — 120 minutes for $153 cash. It is a per-person package, so two of you booking it comes to $306. That is exactly what the couples-massage route costs. Same total, same two services, same two hours.

The difference is the room. Two Combo 5s means two separate massage rooms and two start times the front desk lines up so you finish together. The couples route puts both of you a few feet apart behind one closed door for the massage hour. Neither is better. If being in the same room is the reason you booked the day, take the couples massage. If one of you wants somebody digging into a bad shoulder while the other wants to be left completely alone, two Combo 5s is the smarter shape — ask for it by name at the desk.

Paying in cash takes $10 off every service outside the combo packages, which stacks faster on a two-person day than people expect: $10 off the couples massage, $10 off each head spa, $30 total against the $336 card price. Cards are perfectly fine, and the card number is printed on the menu right next to the cash one. Gratuity is separate and customary, and on the massage half there are two therapists to think about rather than one. For the longer version of the day, the 90-minute couples massage plus a 90-minute ritual each runs $480 cash across roughly three hours. That is a serious afternoon, priced like one.

Book it

One phone call books both halves that the calendar cannot

Online booking is good at one thing: putting one person in one open slot. A couples spa day is two therapists in the same hour and then two adjacent head spa stations in the next one, and no calendar widget can see that pairing. So call the studio. Say two people, say couples massage into head spa, and give a target start time — the desk builds the block and reads it back to you. At Everett that is (425) 948-5868, and texting works as well as calling. Same approach at the other three; the studio directory has each number.

If the day is a surprise, or if you cannot pin down a date that works for both of you, buy the time instead of the appointment. Square-backed gift certificates work at all four studios, and $306 covers this whole build for two at cash pricing. The house rules are worth knowing before you hand over a card: 24 hours' notice to cancel, a 50% fee inside that window, and the full amount for a no-call no-show. At couples prices those numbers have teeth. Arrive about ten minutes early, silence both phones, and skip the jewelry.

Across the metro

From Bellevue to Marysville, one of the four is close

The four studios cover the north and east of the metro without much overlap. Kirkland handles the Eastside on its own — Bellevue and Redmond are each about fifteen minutes out, Woodinville the same, Juanita barely five. North of the lake, Lynnwood is the first one you reach coming up from Shoreline, about fifteen minutes. Mill Creek sits on the SR 527 corridor with Bothell twelve minutes south. Everett covers everything from Mukilteo to Lake Stevens, and its 10 PM close is the reason people drive past a closer studio to get there.

A couples spa day does not have to be a couple, incidentally. Friends book it. So do sisters, and parents with grown kids, and one memorable pair of coworkers who had just survived a launch. If your group is larger than two, the couples room stops being the answer — it holds exactly two — but head spa scales to a party of 5 to 10 at once at $78 each, which is covered properly on the group bookings page. Everything Soul does side by side, from massage rooms to scalp care, is collected on the couples page, and the full ritual menu lives on the head spa hub.

Seattle Area FAQ

Good questions, straight answers

How much is a couples spa day at Soul?
The standard build is $306 cash for two people: a 60-minute couples massage at $150 for the pair, then a 60-minute Signature Head Spa at $78 each. The same day on a card is $336, since cash takes $10 off each of the three services. Stretching both halves to 90 minutes brings it to $480 cash across about three hours. Gratuity is separate.
Is there a couples head spa package?
No. Head spa is priced per person at Soul, so two guests booking the 60-minute Signature pay $78 each — $156 cash total — with no bundle, discount, or package rate. The couples pricing on our menu applies only to massage, which genuinely uses two therapists in one room. Both services run in private rooms either way, so the two of you are never sharing space with another guest.
Which studio is best for a couples spa day?
Choose by hours. Mill Creek opens at 9:30 AM for a morning start, Everett runs until 10 PM for the latest finish, Kirkland is the only Eastside location and pairs with a waterfront walk, and Lynnwood puts you on the Alderwood strip for food and shopping either side of the appointment. The menu and prices are identical at all four.
Should we book the massage or the head spa first?
Massage first. Your shoulders and neck are looser by the time the scalp work starts, and every head spa ends with a blow-dry using a Dyson dryer and Moroccan hair oil — so finishing on that half means you walk out dry rather than lying face-down on freshly washed hair for an hour.
Can we book a couples spa day as a gift?
Yes, and a gift certificate is usually the smarter move than a fixed appointment. Soul's certificates run through Square and are redeemable at all four Washington studios, so the recipients choose the location and the hour themselves. $306 covers the full two-person build at cash pricing; $150 covers just the couples massage.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Friday and Saturday evenings go first, so give those several days. A weekday morning or an early afternoon is often available with a day's notice, and Everett's late evenings are the most bookable couples hours in the family. Since a spa day needs two therapists and then two adjacent stations, call rather than piecing it together online.
Do we have to get the same massage as each other?
Only the length has to match — both tables run on one clock, so you pick 60, 90, or 120 minutes as a pair. After that, one of you can take a slow Swedish while the other asks for therapeutic deep tissue, and each of you sets pressure with your own therapist and can change it mid-session by saying so out loud.
