Why here

Recovery for working bodies in Silver Lake

Everett tension isn't desk tension. It's lifted, carried, climbed, and repeated — pallets, ladders, tool belts, ten-hour days that a body keeps score of. The Soul studio at 10315 19th Ave SE, Suite 108, in the Silver Lake area, sees more physically worked bodies than any other studio in the family, and deep tissue is what most of them come for. Not as a treat. As upkeep.

The 10 PM close is not an accident. Swing shifts, late crews, and closing schedules don't fit a spa that locks its doors at 7, so Everett runs 10 AM to 10 PM every day of the week — the latest close of the four Soul studios. Clock out at 7, eat, and still make a 8:30 PM table with time for a full 90 minutes.

What happens on that table: slower strokes and sustained pressure into the deeper muscle layers, with trigger point work, myofascial release, stretching, and range-of-motion moves where they earn their place. It's the therapeutic end of massage — the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health's plain-language overview of massage therapy is a fair summary of what the practice is and isn't. Sessions run 60, 90, or 120 minutes, starting at $75 cash.

Straight talk

The no-macho pressure policy

Guests who work with their bodies tend to ask for maximum pressure on principle. Here's the truth we'd rather tell you before the session than after: more isn't automatically better. When pressure crosses into bracing, the muscle fights back and holds tighter, and the hour accomplishes less. Deep tissue works best right at the edge of firm — not past it.

Say it up front, say it again

Pressure preferences get set before the first stroke and re-checked as the session goes — and adjusting mid-session is expected, not awkward. That's written into our customer guidelines, along with the part that matters most: if something feels genuinely wrong, the session stops and you're not charged. A therapist who wants you back next month has zero interest in proving anything on your shoulders tonight.

The day after, honestly

Plan on some soreness tomorrow. After a real deep tissue session it's normal and expected — our guidelines say exactly that — and it usually clears within 24 to 48 hours. If tomorrow is a heavy lifting day, consider booking the night before a day off instead. And keep the categories straight: next-day soreness is routine; pain during the session is a stop sign. For guests managing long-running aches, NCCIH's page on chronic pain and complementary approaches lays out the current evidence on massage without the sales pitch.

Is it for you

Signs deep tissue is the right call

A rough shift doesn't automatically mean deep work — sometimes an easy Swedish hour and an early night do more. These are the patterns that make our Everett therapists reach for deep tissue:

  • Your grip and forearms are cooked by Thursday, and stretching alone isn't touching it.
  • Low back stiffness that arrives after a shift of lifting — fine while you're moving, loud when you stop.
  • Shoulders that ache from overhead work: drywall, wrenching, racking stock, running cable.
  • You've been "walking it off" for a month and it hasn't walked off.
  • One side is noticeably tighter than the other, built by the same repeated motion every shift.
  • The foam roller buys you an hour of relief, then the same spot calls back.

Know the difference

Deep tissue vs. PIP clinical massage

One thing sets Everett apart in the Soul family: this is the studio that handles car-accident and PIP clinical massage — whiplash and soft-tissue work billed through an auto insurance personal-injury-protection claim. If your neck or back trouble started with a collision, that's a different track with different paperwork, and it's worth reading before you book anything.

Regular deep tissue is the no-paperwork track: work tension, life tension, no claim number required. We don't accept insurance for standard massage services — PIP claims are the one exception — so the price is simply the menu price, $75 cash for 60 minutes. If you're not sure which track fits, call or text (425) 948-5868 and describe what's going on; the front desk sorts this question daily.

Pricing

Priced by the hour, not the technique

Deep tissue costs the same as any massage on the Soul massage menu: $75 cash for 60 minutes, $105 for 90, $145 for 120, each $10 more by card. The technique is a conversation, not a surcharge. For worked bodies, two add-ons pull their weight: cupping at +$30 — a 60-minute massage with cupping is $105 cash — and the CBD massage upgrade, which uses 250 mg of THC-free hemp-derived CBD and starts at $100 cash.

Hot stone is the third option at +$15, better suited to guests who want warmth over depth. The full menu lists every stack and combo. One budgeting note: gratuity isn't included in any listed price, and cash payment saves $10 on every service except the combo packages, every day — that's the standing structure, not a promotion.

Book it

Getting in, even late

Book online through Setmore, call (425) 948-5868, or — fastest when we're mid-session — text the service you want, how many people, and a target time. Walk-ins are welcome whenever a table is open, and the 10 PM close means "after work" still works at 9. Arrive about 10 minutes early; late arrivals shorten the session because the next start time is fixed. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice — inside that it's 50%, and a no-show is charged in full.

Driving in: Mukilteo, Marysville, Snohomish, and Mill Creek are each about 15 minutes out, Lake Stevens about 20. If you're south of the studio and mornings suit you better, the Mill Creek studio opens at 9:30 AM — a full half hour earlier — with the same menu. Full details, photos, and directions live on the Everett studio page.

Everett FAQ

Good questions, straight answers

How much is deep tissue massage in Everett?
Sixty minutes is $75 cash or $85 card, 90 minutes is $105 or $115, and 120 minutes is $145 or $155 at Soul Massage Head Spa in Silver Lake. Deep tissue is billed at the same rate as Swedish — you're paying for time, not technique. Every massage price is $10 less when you pay cash.
How late can I book a massage in Everett?
The Everett studio closes at 10 PM every day — the latest of Soul's four locations. The last 60-minute session starts at 9 PM, and an 8:30 PM start still fits a full 90 minutes. Book through Setmore or text (425) 948-5868; evening tables go quickest, so same-day texts beat same-day walk-ins.
Should I get deep tissue right after a physical shift?
Most of our evening guests come straight from work, and that's fine — hydrate and expect the usual next-day soreness on top of shift fatigue. One honest caveat: if something specific got hurt on the job today, that's an acute injury, not tension. See a medical provider first; massage is for maintenance, not diagnosis.
What's the difference between deep tissue and your car-accident massage?
Deep tissue is a standard session you book and pay for directly — $75 cash for 60 minutes, no paperwork. Car-accident massage is clinical work for whiplash and soft-tissue injuries billed through an auto PIP (personal injury protection) claim, and Everett is the Soul studio that handles it. We don't take insurance for regular massage; PIP is the one exception.
Is it normal to be sore the next day?
Yes — normal and expected, and our customer guidelines say so in writing. Soreness after deep work typically fades within 24 to 48 hours. If your next shift is heavy, book before a day off when you can. Pain during the session is a different thing entirely: say so immediately and the pressure changes, or the session stops at no charge.
Can I add cupping to a deep tissue session?
Yes — cupping adds $30 to any massage, so a 60-minute deep tissue with cupping runs $105 cash or $115 card, and a 90-minute version is $135 cash. Guests with heavily worked shoulders and backs tend to be the ones who add it. Mention it when you book so the table time is planned right.
Do you take walk-ins at the Everett studio?
Yes, whenever a table is open — and with a 10 AM to 10 PM day there's more open table time than most spas keep. If we miss your call, text (425) 948-5868 with the service, your party size, and the time you're aiming for. Arrive about 10 minutes early to keep your full session length.
