Why here

The only Soul studio east of Lake Washington

For a long time, the head spa map of the Eastside had a hole in it. The format took off across the Puget Sound area, but if you lived in Kirkland, Bellevue, or Redmond, a serious session often meant a 520 crossing into Seattle — tolls, downtown parking, and a return trip timed against the evening backup. Soul's Kirkland studio closed that gap. It sits at 816 6th St S, about 15 minutes from Bellevue or Redmond, and it is the only Soul location east of Lake Washington.

Everything that defines the other three studios came across the lake intact. Milbon scalp products at every station. The warm hydrotherapy rinse. A real head-neck-shoulder massage — bodywork of the kind NCCIH's massage overview describes, not a thirty-second scrub between shampoos. And the finish that separates a head spa from a hair wash: a Dyson blow-dry with Moroccan hair oil, included in the $78 Signature price instead of sold as an add-on.

The hours run 10 AM to 9:30 PM, seven days a week — late enough that a workday ending at 6 still leaves room for a full 90-minute ritual. Leave a Redmond office at 5:45 and you can be face-up at a hydrotherapy basin a little after 6.

Kirkland also happens to be the easiest Soul studio to build a weekend around. Parking at the building is free and the whole Eastside is inside a 15-minute radius, so the classic pattern here is a late-morning Signature, then lunch somewhere nearby with freshly dried hair — the blow-dry with Moroccan oil is included, so you're presentable the moment you walk out. It's a small thing. It's also the reason a 60-minute booking often turns into a half-day out.

The ritual

What the head spa includes and how long it takes

Four rituals, one structure. Every option on the menu runs the same arc — consult, cleanse, exfoliate, massage, treat, rinse, blow-dry — and they differ in how deep each stage goes, not in what happens. Sixty minutes for the Signature; ninety for the Luxury, the Chinese Herb, and the Deep Clean Scalp. First-timers almost always start at 60 and decide from there.

The arc, in order

It starts with questions, not water: pressure preference, water temperature, anything about your scalp your therapist should know. Then the Milbon purifying cleanse, a detoxifying scalp exfoliation, and the stretch most guests replay on the drive home — sustained massage through the scalp, neck, and shoulders. A conditioning treatment follows, then the warm rinse under the hydrotherapy arch, then a basic blow-dry with Moroccan oil so you leave dry and presentable. Speak up mid-session if the pressure's wrong; adjusting is the job, and anything uncomfortable stops immediately, no charge.

Picking your ritual

The $78 Signature is the right first session for most heads. Go 90 minutes when there's a reason. The Luxury ($135 cash) opens with a 30-minute upper-body massage and is the required pick for hair past chest-length and thick — dense hair simply needs more cleanse-and-moisturize time. The Deep Clean Scalp adds hair steam and a second-pass cleanse for oily or product-heavy scalps. The Chinese Herb runs its hydrotherapy with herbal tea and finishes with steam. Regulars settle into a rhythm of every 3 to 4 weeks.

The commuter case

Here's the honest comparison for Eastside readers: a Seattle spa trip can swallow half a day — bridge, parking, session, bridge again. Kirkland compresses that to a lunch break or an after-work stop. Bellevue and Redmond are each about 15 minutes out, Bothell and Woodinville the same, and Juanita is 5. With the studio open until 9:30 PM daily, the after-dinner slot is a real option, not a theoretical one.

Getting here

Juanita to Woodinville in under 15 minutes

The 6th St S address puts most of the Eastside inside a short drive: Juanita in about 5 minutes, Totem Lake in 8, and Bellevue, Redmond, Bothell, and Woodinville all around 15. If you're browsing from Bellevue or Redmond specifically, the Bellevue and Redmond pages map the trip in detail, and the wider Eastside head spa guide compares this studio against the drive north to our Snohomish County rooms.

One planning note: I-405 through Totem Lake decides your evening. Northbound after 4 PM can double a 15-minute trip, so a 7 or 8 PM booking often beats fighting for 5:30 — and the 9:30 close leaves plenty of runway for either. Weekend mornings are the opposite story: the 10 AM open tends to be the easiest slot to get, with the lightest drive of the week from anywhere on the Eastside.

Book it

Booking the Kirkland studio

Book online through Setmore for real-time openings, or call or text (425) 345-3139 — if we miss the call, text the service you want, how many people, and a time, and we'll confirm. Walk-ins work when a station's free, but evenings are safer reserved. First visit: arrive 10 minutes early, since a late start comes out of your session, not the next guest's. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice; inside that window a 50% fee applies, and a no-show is charged in full.

Two capacity notes worth knowing. Couples get a private room for two — reserve both spots together, and the door stays shut, since no room here is shared with another booking. Groups can run anywhere from 5 to 10 guests simultaneously, which makes this studio work for birthdays. And if you want a longer visit, the combo menu stacks a 60-minute full-body massage onto the Signature: 120 minutes for $148 cash, booked back-to-back so you're not gambling on two separate openings.

Payment is simple: cash preferred, with the $10 discount already reflected in the first column of every menu; Visa, Mastercard, and Discover accepted otherwise. No cash refunds — anything that needs correcting becomes service credit — and tips stay separate from the listed price. Silence the phone, leave the jewelry at home, and the 60 minutes do the rest.

Kirkland FAQ

Good questions, straight answers

Is this really the only Soul studio on the Eastside?
Yes. The other three Soul rooms — Mill Creek, Everett, and Lynnwood — all sit up in Snohomish County. Kirkland is the one east of Lake Washington, which is why guests come from Bellevue, Redmond, Bothell, and Woodinville, each about 15 minutes out. Juanita is closer still, around 5 minutes.
What does a head spa in Kirkland cost?
The 60-minute Signature is $78 cash or $88 card. The three 90-minute rituals — Luxury, Chinese Herb, and Deep Clean Scalp — are $135 cash or $145 card each. Cash saves $10 on every ritual; that's the standing structure, not a sale. Tips aren't included.
Can I come after work from Bellevue or Redmond?
That's the studio's main use case. Both cities are about 15 minutes away, and sessions run until a 9:30 PM close every day. If I-405 is jammed at 5:30, a 7 PM booking usually beats sitting in it — check live openings on Setmore before you leave the office.
How is this different from driving into Seattle for a head spa?
Mostly arithmetic. A Seattle trip means the 520 or I-90 crossing, tolls, parking, and traffic both ways wrapped around your session. From Kirkland you skip all of it — same Milbon products, same hydrotherapy ritual, $78 Signature price, and you're home 15 minutes after your blow-dry.
Can two of us book together?
Yes — there's a private room for two, and it's the standard way couples and friends book. Reserve both spots at once by phone or text at (425) 345-3139. Larger groups work too: a party of 5 to 10 can do head spa simultaneously with advance notice, at the same per-person price.
What should I do before my first session?
Arrive about 10 minutes early — a late start shortens your session, since the next booking is fixed. Come with whatever's on your hair; the cleanse handles product buildup. Skip jewelry, silence your phone, and think about your pressure preference, because your therapist will ask. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice to avoid a 50% fee.
What products does the Kirkland studio use?
Milbon professional scalp care for every head spa — purifying shampoo, detoxifying exfoliant, conditioning treatments. The blow-dry uses a Dyson dryer with Moroccan hair oil. Facials, if you add one through a combo, use Comfort Zone. Same lineup at all four studios, so a 60-minute ritual here matches one in Mill Creek exactly.
